Bitter Sweet

I love a nice cold Guinness from the moment it hits my mouth. Guinness has a full-bodied, bitter, rich and creamy taste that never disappears. The problem is after two Guinness’s I am ready for a nap. This cocktail is on the lighter side. The Nocino and macadamia nut bring out the natural nutty malted flavors in Guinness while the blackberries are a perfect combination of a fresh berry taste without being overly sweet.

    • Guinness
    • 1 oz Amaro Nocino Liqueur
    • 3 oz blackberry nector
    • 1 barspoons of Macadamia Nut Honey

Combine honey and blackberry nectar in the bottom of a shaker. Stir until honey is diluted. Add Nocino – shake, pour over chilled collins glass filled with ice. Top with Guinness – stir. Garnish with blackberries.

Blackberry Nectar

Wash a basket of berries, put them in a blender, blend until smooth and fine strain out any seeds.

Macadamia Nut Honey can be found online at or at Rockridge Market Hall in Oakland.

  • .5 oz Amaro Nonino Liqueur
